COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 10, 2009) - The 2009 Cooper Tires Invitational brought the best bull riders in the world to Columbus’ Nationwide Arena for stop no. 30 on the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS).  At the end of the exciting Saturday night performance, veteran bull rider Mike White (De Kalb, Texas) took first place after scoring 88.75 points on the bull, Carolina Cat, owned by Walton & Wagoner Bucking Bulls.  He collected a much-needed check for $2,730, adding valuable money to his 2009 Qualifier Standings.

Oregon fan favorite Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.) took second place in the round after riding the bull, Scaredy Cat of Dakota Rodeo/Denny Hawks for 87.75 points.  Two-time World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.) rode the bull, Bravo (George Walschon/Gene Baker/Homestead Genetics) for 87.25 points while young gun Elliott Jacoby (Fredericksburg, Texas) finished in fourth place after taking on the bull, Hell Yeah, owned by Danny Reagan Bucking Bulls, for 87 points.  Rounding out fifth place was Dustin Elliott (North Platte, Neb.) who scored 86.75 points on BRH Ranch/Gene Baker’s bull, Last Call.

Due to his round two win at the GoDaddy.com Invitational, Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Cooper Tires Invitational.  Meier made the eight second whistle on Mr. Teevy, owned by Crazy H Bucking Bulls; therefore, he took home the $5,000 bonus.  As the round one winner in Columbus, Mike White (De Kalb, Texas) will be eligible for the bonus during Sunday’s performance.

The Cooper Tires Invitational continues tomorrow as the top 40 bull riders in the world compete to see who will take home the coveted event title.  Catch all of the action when VERSUS airs round two and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round at 9 p.m. EST.

INJURY REPORT:
Ryan Dirteater
(Hulbert, Okla.) sprained his knee after bucking off his round one bull.  He is probable for round two in Columbus.

Bryan Richardson (Dallas, Texas) suffered a shoulder sprain during round one, but will ride in Sunday’s round.

Mike, Ross, and Chris go 1-2-3! Seems like old times! However JB, Guilherme, and Kody all got cheated by having to ride dud bulls! And the draw for tonight is worse!!!!!!! None of the the top ranked can win this event on the bulls they have! And then Mike White gets Silver Wings--a really rank bull! How were these bulls chosen?

master should have stayed up later and posted the results!

The above article does not mention how the top three did last night. Very frustrating -
I don't know how or if any of them rode their bulls last night. They have not put the resutls in the site yet.

Up until this event I could follow what was going on on Twitter. Last night was a joke on twitter. There were no results for the last flight. They said that they were going to ride. Nothing was posted. I have DirecTv and this is my only way to follow the events. Is this how it is going to be thr rest of the events? Is this part of the new partnership with Dish?

Pretty good when that when some people pay over $50 for their seats and don't get the chance to get a t-shirt. And the ones that are sittin up in nose-bleed sections get the shirts. I have been a fan for a really long time - I just think it's messed up.
Other than that had a great time - GO JB!!

We agree. Some of us Directv people felt like someone put the squeeze on the person twittering
and did not allow him to give riding results. PBR will be losing more fans if they don't get
    something done soon.

At least someone made a comment that the top three rode their bulls, for those of us on Directv the last comment on twitter we saw was the last flight was coming up and then Mike White won the event. You go into the event and round one this morning and the results still are not posted. I don't see where anyone is giving the Directv people any consideration. If I could get out of my contract without paying an outragious fee I would. It would be nice if you are going to twitter the results as they happen that someone would put up all the rides and not just a few.
