DALLAS, Texas (September 25, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is thrilled to announce that the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour will invade the brand-new, world-class Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in 2010.  Top PBR superstars will ride in the largest, most technologically advanced entertainment venue in the world on Saturday, February 20 for the Dickies 2010 Iron Cowboy Invitational presented by WinStar World Casino.  For one unprecedented, action-packed performance, the world’s best riders will put on a bull riding competition unlike any other in the history of the PBR! The action will erupt from 16 chutes (four in each corner) and play across the huge, $48 million video screen!

“This will be the largest, one-day event in the history of the PBR and the sport of bull riding as well as rodeo,” said Randy Bernard, PBR’s Chief Executive Officer.  “Jerry Jones and I are extremely excited to launch an event that will have a significant economic impact on the city and become a staple not only for Arlington, but for the great state of Texas.”

In a one-of-a-kind format created exclusively for Cowboys Stadium, the Dickies 2010 Iron Cowboy Invitational will be the first true, head-to-head competition in the history of the PBR.  A total of twenty-four riders will qualify to ride at Cowboys Stadium – eight riders will qualify based off of the 2009 World Finals standings after Las Vegas and will receive a bye in the first round; fourteen additional riders will qualify based off of the 2009 BFTS standings as of January 31; and the PBR Competition Board will award exemptions to two riders.  The riders will be paired up and then will each take on the exact same bull with the winner moving on to the next level.  The winning rider will be determined by who obtains the highest score.  If both riders buck off, the rider who stayed on the longest will move on.  In the end, the rider who rides their fourth and final bull for the highest total points will be declared the winner and will take home the largest payout for a one-day event in the history of the PBR!

“This is a unique format that has never been done in the sport of bull riding,” said Ty Murray, PBR founder and nine-time World Champion.  “It’s really easy to follow. For every two riders, you’re going to see a true match, and you’re going to see the best guys going head-to-head against the same bull. I think it’s going to be a really exciting fan experience.  It’s a win-win for both the fans and the bull riders.”

Dickies, a proud Texas company, is the title sponsor for this prestigious event, and PBR also welcomes a new presenting sponsor, WinStar World Casino.  The casino will play host to the Pre-Event Kick-Off Party on Friday, February 19, 2010.  Activities include an exclusive rider meet & greet, 2010 PBR World Finals ticket giveaways, special entertainment, and much more.

A token of appreciation was also presented to Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones by PBR CEO Randy Bernard.  A custom buckle was created by Jeffrey Scott, owner and founder of Jeffrey Scott Fine Magnetics, the Official Buckle of the PBR.  This one of a kind piece featured a depiction of the new Cowboys Stadium, The Dallas Cowboys trademark star encrusted with Blue Sapphires, and the PBR logo highlighted with rubies and diamonds.  This spectacular belt buckle is valued at over $15,000.  To see complete coverage of the press conference, please visit www.pbr.tv, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

About Dickies:

Dickies isn’t just a brand, it’s a way of life. Family--owned Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Company has built a global powerhouse by making durable, functional clothing that works as hard as the people who wear them... and is the reason that Dickies picked these tough PBR athletes to be their representatives in the exciting world of PBR in 2005.

Founded in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1922, Dickies has a long history clothing farmers and ranchers around Cow Town and far beyond.

In fact, Mr. Williamson did America’s first consumer apparel research survey in the 1950s— on cowboys and their jeans. Henry Fonda memorably wore Dickies overalls in “The Grapes of Wrath,” playing an Okie in the dust bowl days of the 1930s, just like so many people continue to do on farms and ranches in the nation’s heartland. During World War II, Dickies made more than 9 million U.S. Army uniforms. When the G.I.s came home, they wore their Dickies into the fields, factories and garages and the twill workshirt/khaki pants “matched set” became the unofficial uniform for workers coast-to-coast. Icon Frank Sinatra wore a Dickies matched set in the WWII classic “From Here to Eternity,” as did Humphrey Bogart in “To Have and Have Not.”

But the real touchstone for Dickies is product innovation. Our design team is constantly updating the functionality and appeal of Dickies pants, shirts, denim, outerwear, uniforms and accessories to respond to changes in the workplace.

Yesterday, it was inventing permanent press, better coveralls and mass producing the zip fly. Today it’s improving duck work jackets or medical scrubs, creating the perfect cellphone pocket for your plumber, and introducing camo for weekends and longer workshorts for the bike delivery guy, just to name a few.

Now celebrities from Tim McGraw and Kid Rock to Outkast and Jesse James wear Dickies for the same reason millions of hardworking people around the world do. You can count on Dickies to work on the job every time, even if you’re throwing yourself in front of 2,000 pounds of moving meat, just for fun.

The Dallas Cowboys played for years in Texas Stadium, which was in Irving and the Cowboys main office is in Valley Ranch. I guess it would be strange to call them the Arlington Cowboys, just wouldn't be the same. On the top banner, on the main PBR page, they have now changed the event to Arlington, instead of Dallas.

I think its great that the website ad says Dallas. The mayor and the hob-nobs hate it when
Dallas is used instead of Arlington. Such as when newscaster Bob Costos ref. to the Stadium
as "The Palace in Dallas". That ruffled some feathers. I guess its like when some folks refer
to a PBR event as a rodeo. Glad there will be some real "Cowboys" at the "Cowboy Stadium" for
    a change.

Unfortunately, I am another fan who is unsure they like the current direction of the PBR. It has become so commercialized. The [Sponsor] [Sponsor] [Sponsor] Invitational, Presented by [Sponsor] and [Sponsor]. Enough already! And, who really cares who sponsors it, anyway? Is the PBR so hard up for money? You'd think that times would have been tougher in the old days, when it was the [City] Open and no sponsor. Maybe the new ownership demands more and more money. It seems that management is much more distant from the average fan than in the past. Now, to the gimic in Dallas. I used to plan my Spring and Summer around this event. But, since it was moved to the January-February timeframe for no reason, I didn't go. I won't be attending this one either. For one thing, I don't like the one day events. Second, the $100 seats are fine, but the $150+ is too much. Third is that I think this stadium is too big for a PBR event. So, I'd suggest adding a second Dallas event or returning to the old scheduling. In any case, I guess I should look at other cities to travel to in 2010. Unfortunate!

I think it says $20 a ticket going UP TO $150. But that screen is bigger than my state, so Im thinking there aren't bad seats especially if there are 4 chutes in every corner?

Jerry World (aka Cowboys Stadium) is in record-setting mode and it's a shame PBR got sucked into it. $150+/ticket and $75 parking and pricey drinks and food does not appeal to us. We ALWAYS attend the Dallas stop but this time we're staying home. Party on, boys and girls.

$150 a ticket. That is ridiculous. I've never had the opportunity to watch a bull ridin from
the stands, but I darn sure wouldn't for that price. You won't see many cowboys in the stands
at that one. Cowboys are too poor for that!!

Seems as if every day the PBR drifts further and further from it's roots and fan base. The past few years it has been very gratifying to see the growth and the money these guys can earn. I would never begrudge a cowboy a paycheck, but when you forget the true spirit of your sport and alienate those who made you what you are, you do a disservice to all. The dollar is a powerful thing. It has a long history of enticing men into foolishness. Seems a shame...

For $150 per, I should think I would be sittin on the shark cage drinkin comp beers until I'm ready for the Silver Bullet Girls to drive me home.

I agree with you webpbr. I was trying to see the event for the cheapest amount possible. You could also try parking at Six Flags and walking to the stadium from there. Also, Fort Worth Transportation Authority offers $5 shuttles to the cowboy games from downtown Fort Worth. They said to call back later and see if they will be offering shuttles to the PBR.

countryfan20 - At first the PBR said that there was going to be 4 arenas. The lady on the phone (when ordering tickts) said that there will be four "chutes", one on each corner of the arena. The $50 tickets are cheaper because, although they are closer to "a" chute, they are further away from the other chutes. That is why the $150 tickets are more expensive, because they are in the middle, supposedly for better viewing. Either way, tickets are expensive. I don't think the parking will be $75 (better not be). During a Dallas Cowboy free open practice, the parking cost was $10. Before I get real upset about the number of days of bull riding in Texas, I am waiting on the 2010 schedule.

Got my ticket this morning for $55 (with fees). I am in the lower section real close to the chutes. That was the cheapest that they offered (phone order). Shipping was $6 but I will pick them up at will call and save $6.

Just got our tickets to this event. I am big Dallas Cowboy fan, so I will be looking forward to being able to get a look at the new stadium. However, I am not happy paying $170 a ticket (with fees) and not happy that this will be the only event in Dallas. When the new schedule comes out and the rest of the schedule for Texas is the same as this year (only other event is 2 days in San Antonio) I will not be happy either. That would be a total of 3 days of bull riding in Texas. This is COWBOY COUNTRY, and all we can get is 3 days?

We haven't missed a PBR Dallas event in years. We will not go this year. In addition to
the too high ticket pricing, there will be $75.00 parking and $8.00 for a Coke and it's
not a "true" event...Looks like OL' Jerry and Bubba Randy will be coming out way ahead on
this one AT THE FANS EXPENSE. I agree with the other poster that said this "new" PBR could
become another WWE. PBR needs to get back to it's roots.

Heartbroken in Texas! I have been a huge fan of the pbr for many years attending events and watching each week - now the party continues on but I'm no longer invited. I'm past looking to blame anyone - business is business and I'm the loser. Surely no one really expects me to keep up my interest via internet and a 30 minute tv update. I love all aspects of the pbr but I need to be able to attend the party, not just peek in the windows! So very sad. I'll check back now and then to see if we 8 million fans get our pbr back. Until then I'm gone........just too painful to be left out. Best of luck and health to all involved. Miss you all so much already! Please find your way back to all of us!

Huge announcements? Huge??? Wow. By your own account, you have 8,000,000 fans unable to view your product and you tease with these huge announcements. Once again a showing of incredibly poor judgment from the folks in Pueblo. You've got a large portion of your fan base with no connection to your sport but the internet, and THIS is what you come up with? I'm not sure who's runnin this outfit right now, but I've seen better management skills displayed at the "kettle korn" stand at the fair. Absolutely ridiculous.
I, like many, have been a fan and followed since the early days of the PBR. Went to my first event in the early '90s here in Phoenix. I miss it dearly. I will support the riders till the end, but I will not accept being jerked around by those who have no respect for my dedication. Amazingly it has taken less than 4 weeks to go from waiting patiently and unquestioningly supporting the riders, to being fed up with the cr@p being spewed forth from Pueblo. It ain't that difficult to figure out, you do not need an Ivy league degree to negotiate this situation. Tell us you feel for our plight and re!@#ure us you are doing everything in your power to bring the broadcasts back into our living rooms. Save the bedazzling and theatrics for another time. Now is not the time.

    Note to Mr. Bernard:

I enjoyed the RFD program for what is was worth. Not even close to a substitute for 4 hours worth of bull riding, but a welcome and appreciated gesture. I did find it amusing that Mr. Bernard gave out the supposed personal e-mail of the RFD president, yet remains shielded through the PBR site. I've read the claims that he reads these posts, but have seen nothing to make me believe this to be true.
The folks on these boards are desperate and want to follow you. They are wandering around alienated and disgruntled. Most understand the complexity of the situation, they are just hoping for re!@#urance that they are not abandoned. Most folks don't want or expect the PBR to choose between Versus and Directv, just show some commitment to your fans. Surely someone there can relate to the average fan. If not, reach out to some of the folks here on these boards.

The next HUGE announcement had better be that ALL your fans will be able to view the next PBR event. The 8,000,000 fan counter is rolling backwards as I type.

    Rich.

I wasn't sure what the announcement would be but from a PR standpoint this is big for the PBR. I sure would rather have the 2 day event but this is what we get here in TX this year. They did the Shootout for one year and then it went away. I wish the rest of the country didn't feel slighted, maybe because it did not directly affect everyone. As long as it is televised, to me that is the important thing. Then everyone can see it. For me I have to make the decision on going or watching TV. Normally going is the way to go, this time the 4 arenas and the huge stadium have me concerned. Most likely I will go, if the fans that go don't like it, I promise we will voice our concerns and it will be heard.

This news is nice, but it was so over-hyped that the news is now totally "underwhelming". This could have been good news that fans were happy to read, if you have just issued a press release without the pre-press release hype. Now it's just annoying.

Take a note, for goodness sakes, and don't do this again. Have you ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf?

IS ANYONE LISTENING THAT CARES WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING ???? Good for the fans that are close to Dallas. I hope they enjoy the event and I hope it's good for the cowboys and bull owners. But the big money running this show know obviously doesn't remember, or never knew, who bought the tickets, who got DISH or DIRECTV whichever happened to be covering the events. From the beginning of this evolution, from OLN days to now, there can be no comparison as to what is important. Cowboys and fans - If the fans aren't important and only the money this sport can make, it's tainted and what this had always been about - a way to make a living through a lifestyle - and is lost. Is there anything about this event that real cowboys would be proud to be a part of ? Seems the real cowoys who got together in the first place are now MIA. It's sad and I am just glad that there are other venues to carry on this great American tradition - Long live the Cowboy

Definately not what I was expecting from the "big announcement" but I like it. I think the format will be cool to watch and see who can make it to the end. BUT, for those of us who don't get to go to Dallas to see it, it's really not that big of a deal, especailly if it's aired on Versus. But, like I said, cool idea. ... Those worried about the bulls: They can buck two times in a row without being afected. This has been done many times when a rider takes a re-ride on the bull he was just on. It won't make it unfair for any of the riders. I'm sure that if the judges felt that the rider didn't get a fair chance they will do something. It's for entertainment and they're trying something new to see how it works.. Give them a break.

That's it??, I can't believe you(PBR) could do such a thing to your fans, you could have told us that 3 days ago what's so huge about that?, I mean it's a new big stadium, but hey!, two times I was all hyped up and it's only another schedule on the PBR season schedule, and besides that is an expensive stadium,.. and it won't be cheap, let me tell you that now, just another way of making money, and RFDTV was just to get us calm and ease up a little, if they can pay that much money(and am that wasn't no small change) to Jerry Jones to borrow the cowboy stadium,.. they could have buy out their contract w/ versus and get a real channel for us PBR fans(which it makes us all stupid now) to watch.

Come on Randy, have you done enuff damage to your already questioning fans? you can give more to RFDTV and they can bring us the whole event and not just clips here, there, talk show, we need our PBR event show back to it's fullest,.......

For me it will only be a 2 hour drive and that's great but I will be dissapointed if I don't get my 2 day event this year as well. Texas has a big enough fan base for two events in the DFW area. Thank you PBR for working hard to bring us new and exciting events.

I agree with BCFan1. That was my biggest question as well.

Same bull for both guys. It seems as though the 2nd rider will have a weaker trip on the bull. However, I have seen more than enough re-rides where the rider asked for the same bull. It never really seems to make a difference. Look at JB when he got the reride when the bull got his horn stuck in the gate. Bull bucked pretty hard both times.

While this is a concern (i.e. same bull and one rider having more bang in the buck), there are enough rerides that I have seen that show the bull will perform back to back.

I would !@#ume the first rider would get his shot all the way through, thus giving the bull a rest and then the second rider would go.

PBR don't listen to the ones whining. Your events are still great, the coverage is best on Versus (yes if I recall early this year everyone complained about the announcers on NBC for how bad they were, now you complain that Versus is bad). It is not like you are changing every event to this format, this is just a spin on bull riding that will be enjoyable to watch. Very similar to the formaat for the Worlds Touoghest Cowboy when they match rider against rider in all the rouoghstock events.

The PBR is the greatest sport and event.

Sounds pretty cool, I'm game for any kind of bull riding. Just one question though - how fair is it going to be for the 2 riders with the same bull? What if they get a bull that is ridden the first time but is worn out for the second guy, so he doesn't buck as hard? I'm just not sure on that aspect. Sounds fun though =)

This seems like it will be a nice event. If there hadn't been so much hype around a big announcement, I would probably think it was pretty cool. Instead I am stuck thinking about how the PBR tricked me into getting excited over something that won't even really affect me. I know this event will get public recognition for the PBR which is great and it might reach new fans, but it doesn't affect us fans who are already on the website seeing that huge banner ad. I will watch the event (I don't have DirectTV), and it may be interesting, but it won't be all that more exciting than a regular BFTS event. It probably won't even affect the World Standings which is really what the PBR is all about.

So this is it??!!! It's nice for those folks in NM and TX but what about the rest of us? This was your big news????? Right now for most folks "big news" would have been that an agreement of some kind had been met and PBR was going back on the air for all of us to see. Right now we're up a creek without a paddle. Don't pull a stunt like this again PBR cause right now you're losing us.

This will be fun to watch for those that can get Versus. Would have been even better if they
announced it was going to be on a 'real' network.

It sounds like a great event, but I know the cost of the seats are more than the
event in Dallas this year. I do hope we get another event in Dallas for more
than one day. And hopefully the parking will not be the $75 that it cost for a
    Dallas Cowboy's game...
