Texas sensation claims Cheyenne Frontier Days PBR Title

Cheyenne, Wyo. (July 25, 2007) - The Cheyenne Frontier Days Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company (USSTC) Challenger Tour stop wrapped up in exhilarating style Tuesday night from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Bull riding fans were delighted with thrilling rides and harrowing wrecks. When the dust settled on the event, Clayton Williams (Carthage, Texas) claimed the event title with 176 points on two bulls. Williams added $16,479 in PBR bucks to his career earnings.
Williams split victory in the long go-round with Colby Yates (Fort Worth, Texas) by scoring 88 points. He was the final rider in the short round when he topped Berger/Ryken's Cooter for 88 points and the event title.
"It's an honor to win the bull riding at Cheyenne Frontier Days," said Williams of his win. "This is one of the greatest stops of the year and I'm blessed to be able to take this win home with me."
Williams burst onto the PBR's Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler after he claimed $200,000 earlier this year at the 2006 U.S. Smokeless Challenger Tour Championship presented by Dickies held in Oklahoma City, Okla. "I'm definitely not taking any of this for granted. It's been a great year and I hope I can continue the success I've experienced in the future."
The top three from the event were Renato Nunes (Buritima, Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 174 points and $9,530 and Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 173.5 points earning $5,328.
