HONOLULU, Hawaii (November 19, 2006) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) rocked nearly 11,000 fans this weekend at the Cheeseburger Island Style Hawaii All Star Challenge presented by Amp'd Mobile at the Blaisdell Arena.  This event marked the PBR's debut appearance in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Before a sell-out crowd on Saturday evening, Molalla, Oregon's Ross Coleman wowed fans in true all star fashion by riding all four bulls he faced during this two-day competition, winning the event championship title.  Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) was the event's only other perfect rider.

Snyder and Coleman entered the final round as the only men to ride three of three bulls.  Snyder rode first in the final round and covered his draw, Chad Berger Bucking Bulls' Come Apart, but the bull's performance resulted in Snyder being awarded a reride.  Discovering his reride draw was the PBR's 2006 High Money Bull (the bull upon which the riders won the most money during the season), Davis/White's Chiefburger with an Attitude (aka Chief), Snyder eagerly accepted his reride option.

Coleman rode before Snyder attempted his reride and covered his final round bull putting the pressure on Snyder to not only cover Chiefburger with an Attitude, but to also need a 90.5 score in order to surpass him for the lead.  Coleman anxiously watched his best friend and even cheered Snyder through his reride for which Snyder received only 89 points.

"I love that guy [Snyder]," said Coleman.  "He's like a brother to me.  I can't believe I beat him by a point.  But, that's just how it goes sometimes."

When asked how it felt to win, Coleman remarked, "This is the best way to start the year."

Coleman took home $15,176 for his weekend performance, with Snyder pocketing $12,256 for second place and Fort Hall, Idaho's Wiley Petersen placing third, winning $13,316.

The evening also boasted a stellar performance from 2006 Daisy Rookie of the Year, J.B. Mauney of Mooresville, N.C.  Mauney became one of only three men in 53 attempts to cover the infamous Pandora's Box of Taylor Made Bucking Bulls.  His 91 point score gave Mauney the final round win.

Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.) who, while winning Round One on Friday evening was severely injured, underwent surgery on Saturday afternoon.  While conducting the surgery doctors discovered that Shivers suffered a broken ankle in addition to the broken fibula and tibia he sustained when Taylor Made Bucking Bull's Chili stepped on his left leg.  Doctors inserted two screws into his ankle and a rod into his tibia.  They also made a slit in his leg to relieve some of the pressure due to muscle tissue swelling.  Shivers will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair the slit.  Plans are for him to go home on Thursday.  Expected recovery time for Shivers is three to six months.

Injury Report:

Rob Bell (Houston, BC, Canada) did not compete in Round 4 on Saturday night after suffering a groin injury in Round 3.  He is probable for the Versus Invitational in New York City in January.

Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) did not compete on Saturday night after aggravating his injured right hand which he broke during the 2006 season in Baton Rouge, La.  Briscoe is probable for the Versus Invitational in New York City in January.
