Time flies when you’re having fun...

It's been a very memorable year on my behalf. But it's unbelievable to think just how quick this year has blown by. They always say time flies when you're having fun and that's an understatement.

I'm looking forward to this last regular season event and then the Finals. I'm so happy you will be competing and I pray God keeps you safe. You provide a great role model for young kids today. Watching young cowboys like you, Kolt, L.J., and others represent the best of America's youth because you keep the spirit of the West alive.

Good luck at the Finals Reese! I will be cheering you on and praying that God keeps you and all of the other riders safe like I do every weekend. I can't imagine having such a dream come true, but I love watching it happen to such a great cowboy. Good luck this weekend and at the finals I'll be watching.

Reese, your such a little sweetheart! I, as a fan, have certainly enjoyed watching your rookie year in 2008 and reading your hilarious blogs. I know there are great things in store for you. Good luck this weekend in CT and at the Finals. Stay safe.

Hi Reese,
You are so right, time does go by so fast. I can't believe it's almost time for the World Finals again. I am a big PBR fan and have loved watching bull riding since I was a kid. I have enjoyed watching you this year. I got to meet you and alot of the other bull riders in Jacksonville, Fl. You are a very fine young man, as well as all the riders. It is so refreshing to meet such nice young men at a sporting event. You are all so gracious when it comes to meeting us fans and giving autographs. My 6 yr old grandson is my bull riding buddy. We took him with us in Sept. in Jax, Fl and he was so excited that you all came around afterwards and signed his hat. He took it to school with pictures that we took to show it off. You are a great role model for these kids. Keep your chin up and your eyes on God. I pray for your safety as well as all the riders. See you in Vegas!

It's been a great season because of you young riders. You, Colt and Pistol have been showing the fans that there is some great new talent out there. I have been a fan for a few years now, and watch all the PBR events that are televised. Versus has done a great job of bringing this thrilling sport to us. I have been fortunate to get to Worcester Classic, and plan to get to Mohegan Sun Invitational this weekend. Many of us up here in New England, (City Folk) don't get much exposure to Western culture or Rodeo sports. I thank you all.
Hang on till you hear the buzzer Reese, Remember its ONLY 8 seconds.. The LONGEST 8 seconds of your life!

Reese, I'm glad you had such a great year and took the time to share it with us through your blogs. Watching has been great fun and one of the reasons is because of your fight for the top of the Rookie of the Year race. Good luck at the finals!

Because of your posts I have to say you are fast becoming one of my favorite riders. Your attitude for your age is amazing and you are very humble. That now-a-days is pretty rare in young people in your position. Most would be a cocky and full of themselves (not saying PBR riders are.) It is good to see that you are truly thankful for where you're at and that you thank God for it. You are right, you have had a GREAT year for your first year on tour and I think it will just keep getting better and better for you. I wish you all the luck in the world going into the Finals and I pray you ride your bulls and stay safe. It is also good to see that you are very fan based. I want you to know that I for one, am behind you 100%. Good luck and keep havin' fun!!! I love the posts!!

Hey, Reese, well, as one of the 90%, thank you. It has been a real pleasure watching you climb the ladder of success, having been tracking you from almost the beginning of your bull riding career. Seeing you at the many events as been an added pleasure. Sorry I won't be at Vegas to watch you win big...but I will be watching on TV, cheering you on.You have the stuff champions are made of, just don't let the "bright lights, big city" get in your way. Loved the article in Pro Bull Rider. Keep your chin tucked and hold on tight....you can do it!
# Posted By caligal | 10/16/08 1:05 PM
Reese, I totatlly agree with you. Time does fly by fast when you are having fun. I can't not believe it is already finals time and the end of the 1st school year quarter is gone by. Wow, time flies... Congratualations on your best money season of your career but like I have always said money isn't everthing. Yeah, money makes you happy but that is not the point of risking your life evertime you get on a bull. I know you are a bull rider for all the right reasons and I whole heartably respect. You are so unbelievably honored to be doing what you are doing. Not only the PBR thing but the meeting new people, and traveling to new places. Many people just wish to do that and yet you are doing all that plus being a Professional Bull Rider. Reese you so honored and I hope you know that. I think it is wonderful that you and your best friend could experinece this wonderful rookie year in the PBR Built Ford Tough Series. Reese I want to thank you for taking the time of your life to go to autograph signings, stopping and taking pictures with die hard PBR fans, writing blogs, showing off that beautiful smile of yours and most of all doing what you do best: Ridin' them bulls.

Life has been a blast for me getting to attend a couple PBR events. Getting to meet you and Pistol in Tulsa and getting a picture also with you. All the time I have been a die hard PBR fan I have always had the lurking question of "Why do I enjoy this so much"? "What drives me to get so involved in the PBR"? Yeah my family lives in the country we hunt, trap, and fish. But we really have nothing to do with rodeo. I finally came to the conclusion that the answer to the questions is I want to become the first women in the PBR. Yes, I understand the commitment, drive, determination, physical condition, and money it takes to over all accomplish this dream but I have a dream that is going to happen. I know that some other people probably have this dream too but I am driven. Yes, there is multiple problems that would stop me from this dream of mine but in my heart I am already a bull rider. It was weird, I had to tape a couple of bull riding events cause I was busy those weekends. So when I was watching them I just couldn't sit still. I couldn't even finish one round. I would be like "Why didn't he stay on" or "He could have done this...". And just multiple little things like that where I could rewind and fastforward and see all the little mistakes. That drived me nuts and I could watch more that one round. That drove me to want to be a bull rider and I have high hopes of becoming one. Yeah, I have supporters in my dream but like everydream there is always a downer. My parent you ask? Well they aren't really quite sure what to say about it but when ever someone has a dream it is almost imposible to keep someone away from there dream. What I am telling you Reese and all the other people reading this comment is: I need help coming closer to my dream. Yeah I could go to a rodeo school and they could teach me all this stuff but nothing would be more important to me than if I could have a bull rider, like a real one, help me reach this dream. I want to know if there is anybody out there that give me tips or advice on where I could start? Thank you so much, and think about your dream... Who do you want to become? Nothing is impossible and I wish the best for you Reese at the finals. Take home that Rookie Of the Year for me... -Brandi

This is the 1st year I've ever even watched PBR & it started with a surprise birthday trip for my husband to the 1st event in Duluth, GA. I was one of the 10% you mentioned who had no clue about what was going on. But, ever since I haven't missed one event on tv & have been to 4 events this season since! I'm a complete freak-fan of PBR (I'm talkin' shirts, car decals, flags, my kid even has a folder of Adriano & she's a 7th grade girl!!) & I really appreciate that all the riders really take the time to stay after the event ends to meet the fans. It's an unbelievable experience because if I go to a NFL or MLB game THERE IS NO WAY I'm gonna meet my favorite players much less almost all of them. Reese, I wish you the best of luck at the finals & I know the Rookie race has been good but I also know that no matter which of you 3 win, you, Kolt or Pistol I'll be happy as I can be because you all have given it 110% this season & I for one appreciate you guys. I know this will likely be the 1st of many great seasons you'll have but I pray that you will stay safe & ride hard!!! And keep on thanking God cuz it'll keep you straight.

Reese,

You have been a blessing to the fans also. I pray for you on a regular basis and thank the LORD for the fine young gentleman you are. You have shown respect for each person as you go around the arena and are especially kind to the children. So much so that my 5 year old granddaughter wanted to give you a hug and did so. Thank you for a great season, and see you in Las Vegas.

I wish I could go watch all of the great riders at the finals this season, especially since it is Adriano's last, but being 17 and from the east coast, Vegas is out of the question. I will be watching every minute of it from my living room, cheering everyone on. Best of luck in the finals!!!!
# Posted By Rachael A | 10/19/08 6:24 PM
I was at your first event in Duluth and vividly remember your first out, because as you were removing your helmet and walking across the arena dirt I received a text message from my 19-year-old daughter sitting in another section that read "OMG! OMG!"

Well OMG Reese, you have had a great year. I've especially enjoyed your blogs and at risk of sounding like an English teacher I think you have a gift for writing. You words are simple and sparse but they tell your stories eloquently. Keep working at the craft of writing with the same kind of passion as you do your riding and we will all benefit. Good luck at Finals.

You've had a great year Reese, good luck at the finals, and looking forward to seeing you have another great year next year!!!

Oh crud, is this going to be your last post since the year is almost over??? That just hit me like a brick the other day. No, no, NO don't let it be! I will miss them so much. It is what I look forward to every week. PLEASE keep posting even after the Finals. I can't tell you how much I LOVE reading them. They are the only "inside ifo" us fans get and they are great. I know you are very busy, but I never want you to stop posting!! Stay safe and I am praying you ride your bulls at the Finals. (now the darn tv people need to actually SHOW you ride) I never get to see you ride. Maybe in one round, but that's it. They didn't even show your re-ride at the last event. God bless you.

Reese,
Good luck at the finals!!!!! I've enjoyed the blogs!!! Thanks for writing the blogs and telling everybody whats been going on!!!! My little brother ,who is a big Pistol Robinson fan, is hoping you win rookie of the year just because your from Arkansas!!!!

Reese, i was happy to read that you (bullriders) understand that some folks just don't know who you are. I was in that 10 percent when you came to Jacksonville in Sept. But now, i promise you, i am in the 90 percent, and can't wait for you to come to Tallahassee in Feb!

My daughter and I are really excited about your winning Rookie of the Year (yes, winning!), and wish you all the best in a long, successful career!

Prayers and warmest wishes to Joe B. The bull fighters are terrific and tremendously keep the riders and sport to be safer. PBR should have sections for bull fighter and bull blogs, too.

Reese wanted to let you know my son Porter and myself have been watching and pulling for you ever since we met you back during the Arkansas High School rodeo at Jonesboro back in 2004 or 2005. Porter which was only 3 or 4 then was so excited that you set on the chutes and talked to him that day on and off for 3 or 4 hours. Now he tells everyone about that day everytime he sees you on t.v. tells them he will be like you someday. I can only hope that if he does that he will be as nice to little kids as you was that day. You made a little boy your biggest fan that weekend and he still is this weekend! Great job Reese! posted by Heath and Porter Hutchinson

Brazil fans need to learn to respect the individual and quite "nation bashing".
For being so proud of the cowboy culture they need to start understanding cowboy pride.
It'll be interesting to see the response in Reno, don't know if I can be cheering them on like I have in the past.

From what I saw, the competition between the riders was very respectful. It was the fans that were obviously & understandably biased. I don't think that because Brazilian fans cheered less for Team USA, that we as fans should cheer less for riders of other countries. I think, if anything, we should show that we love the riders for doing their job, which is riding bulls better than anyone else! Shouldn't matter where they come from. I'm cheering for ALL my guys just as loud & proud as I ALWAYS do! We, as fans, should show the same class that the Team USA riders showed under some serious pressure!
