‘We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes tomorrow night’

Hey troops, we just got done eating after the show. Me, Jewel and Chelsie went and had a nice dinner together.

I'm just checking in with you.

We got some good comments from Len, which was nice. That's really the first time we got a good comment from him along with a nine, so that wasn't too bad and we tied our highest score with a 25 in the Argentine Tango.

And our Rumba, although it wasn't great, maybe it wasn't as bad as they were expecting. After all, I know Jewel like my Rumba, especially the solo!

I was really glad to have my sisters – Kimber and Kerri – there supporting me tonight.

We'll just have to wait and see how it goes tomorrow night, but I feel like we have the biggest army going behind us and that's really going to help. Chelsie and I both appreciate all the support and I hope everyone caught the salute tonight.

I'll check back in with you tomorrow.

Hey! All I got to say is you rock Ty!! We're all rooting for you!! Good Luck! :)

Ty, you were a delight tonight, as always. That dance to Jewel was priceless.
I have read so many blogs, for the first time in my life, and what I find over and over again are people talking about how they are now going to check out the PBR because of you and what a perfect Ambassador you are for not only bull riding but the Cowboy way of life as well.
I don't just say this---I truly mean from every fiber of my being--you are the role model our youth need so badly.
You are a hard-working, loyal, down to earth gentleman that anyone would be proud to know.

PS Your sense of humor cracks me up.

Best of luck tomorrow. Signed, your most loyal soldier

Got the salute, thanks for acknowledging all your troops, and I might add LOYAL troops. You and Chelsie did great on both dances. Love to watch you dance and including Jewel was such a great, sweet gesture. I feel strongly that your fans will vote strong enough to get you through to the next round. Really do hope so, you and Chelsie deserve it. Thanks for the blog, we appreciate you and what you stand for.

Jewel wasn't the only one that enjoyed the solo. It was HILARIOUS in the best way possible. You guys did great and I think you should be really proud of what you have accomplished. Good luck tomorrow, and no matter what happens you were fantastic.
# Posted By K | 5/5/09 1:46 AM
WOW!! I wasn't sure what to expect but you brought it. You did awesome. I'm sooooo proud of you. You took my breath away with your Tango and you cracked me up with your Rumba. I love watching you so much. Your Army will be voting in full force so you can make it to the semi finals. We Love you Ty!!
# Posted By FarmGirl | 5/5/09 1:49 AM
I caught the salute as soon as you did it, and sent one right back to you!
The Tango was great and the Rumba wasn't half bad. That was sweet doing you hip swing thing for Jewell, but if you're back next week, let Chesie do the choreography. Congrats on your 9's and hope you're getting that pay-off. I'll be on pins and needles waiting for tomorrow night's show. Fingers crossed, Kathy P

I enjoyed watching you on the show and was so nervous on your behalf. Of course, I voted! I am very proud of your accomplishments on "Dancing" and for stepping out of your comfort zone. You also showed the depth and style that exists in the cowboy community. Your success on the show is a true testament to your athletecism and adaptability. And, it has inspired me to work harder outside of my comfort zone, as well. Cheers to you and to Jewel for sharing you with the world!
P.S. I love the blog. What did you have for dinner?
# Posted By LJam | 5/5/09 2:04 AM
Way to go, Ty! The tango was fantastic. Loved the footwork. And a 9 from Len? Impressive! The rumba was lots of fun and you even moved your hips -- woohoo! We're voting until our fingers cramp, then we massage them and vote some more. Keep on keepin' on.
# Posted By Kathie | 5/5/09 2:04 AM
Yes, I caught the salute from you, Chelsie and Jewel. Keep up the good work General, and keep on swinging those hips.
# Posted By Cris | 5/5/09 2:26 AM
Ty, great job tonight. I voted 55 times for you, I have faith that all the army voted tonight! Tell your wife that I liked the fact she told us that you were safe in real time last week.
# Posted By Donna | 5/5/09 2:33 AM
Hey Ty! Thanks so much for taking the time to blog after a long day. Thought your Argentine Tango was great and that you were underscored! I liked the end of the Rumba when you danced for Jewel. Was sweet.
# Posted By YellowCatTail | 5/5/09 2:48 AM
You did great! I can see why Jewel liked your performance! I wish my husband could dance like you!!! Keep up the hard work we love watching you dance and hope you make it through another week! Your fan from Iowa, Joan

Hello Ty, Just want to tell you I'm a motivational writer who wrote an article using you as inspiration a while back, before you and Jewel were married. (link below if you get the time to eventually check it out in my archive) I can't believe what a fantastic job you've done on the show, and it's nice to see you truly are the real deal and the great guy I thought you were all along. As a sidebar: Ironically, I just interviewed one of Chelsie Hightower's partners from So You Think You Can Dance--Joshua Allen--and Chelsie has been the absolute best partner for you. The two of you have created magic together. Chelsie danced the A.Tango with Joshua on the show and your Tango tonight reminded me what a difficult dance that was for them. I can't even begin to imagine how you managed to pull it off like you did. Chelsie is quite the teacher: you are quite the student. Len was the only judge who got your score right. Whatever the outcome, you should be proud of all you've achieved. I know you hate to lose, but you are already a winner in so many ways, so please give yourself the credit you deserve. You've been the hardest working, most refreshing celebrity dancer the show has ever featured. They were lucky to have you participate this season. You embody everything the show represents and have taken us on quite a wild and wonderful ride. Sorry Jewel got hurt early on, but you have gone on to dance for the both of you. Good luck to you and Jewel and your future together. Thanks for being such a stand-up guy. You're the man! PZ~

I missed your salute in the beginning Ty because I wasn't paying attention right then but I did catch Chelsie's - that was nice of her. I absolutely loved the AT and the rumba was hilarious. I don't care what the judges say, you and Chelsie are winners to me no matter what you place! Seriously Ty, you are what this competition is all about and you have come such a long way. My heart swells with pride every time you and Chelsie come out and do your best.
# Posted By Amy M. | 5/5/09 3:26 AM
Well, we manned our stations, and then charged the hill! It felt kinda like Braveheart LOL Let them keep under estimating you and your Army, and we'll keep knocking em out. Can't wait for 2morrow night!!
# Posted By Davidnhmd | 5/5/09 4:22 AM
Ty and Chelsie just keep up the good work. Its like the judges have it in for you since the beginning and your still there. My wife and daughter loved the solo. LOL. As loyal PBR fans, Ty you will always be a champion in our books no matter what the judges say on Tuesday.
# Posted By The Barrs | 5/5/09 4:26 AM
Best of luck to you, Ty! We are rooting for you to stay in the competition after tomorrow!

This comment is in reference to the earlier comments Mrs. Ty (Jewel) made about giving points for injured dancers' rehearsals.

This is a tv show, based as you know on judges and the votes of the public. They have a whole lot of money invested in the entire season of the show, and it is apparent from reading Ty's blog on here that the dancers are working like Trojans just to get ready for each week.

Steve O was the first dancer to be injured and judged on rehearsal, yet you don't slam him, just another woman, Melissa, and a good dancer.

Now I like Ty and wish he could win, just because I like people to win who carry themselves well in public, are polite, and at least show a sense of fair play and humility.

Jewel, you really don't help Ty's case when you come out in public complaining like this. Julianna Hough complained in public, making her and her partner look small and petty.

The show has to act in the best interest of keeping the show going, not just in making a sports competition fair or a bull riding event played by the strict rules.

If it had been Ty that had been injured, with hope of returning in a week, I'd want him to be given a chance, too.

Ty,
I just watched your dances again on You Tube. I liked them even better the second (and third!) time. Chelsie is one good teacher. I agree with Len, I think the Argentine Tango is your best dance yet. Good luck tonight. I'll never forget that Rumba solo - maybe it'll become a standard dance move and be named after you:)
# Posted By Anne | 5/5/09 6:03 AM
I loved your rumba and Argentine Tango last night. Your dance for Jewel was so sweet and good. You got all my votes last night.
# Posted By Carol | 5/5/09 6:36 AM
Ty, sooooo proud of the way you came out and gave your usual 200% !! The rumba might not have been the best of the night but it was the most enjoyable. We laughed, we cried and we loved it!!! (and we voted) Regardless of the show results, you're such a remarkable person and role model for young men. As you previously stated, this is a tv show for entertainment and ABC is lucky for what you have done for the show and how much the viewers have loved you. You really are a class act......Salute Salute and Salute....Texas fan

You guys did great last night. Pay no attention to what the judges or anyone else says, because you have earned your place in the semi-finals and the finals.

There's a lot of people power-voting for you, and as long as you still want to be on the ride, we will do our best to keep you in it.
# Posted By JR | 5/5/09 7:23 AM
Ty and Chelsie: I thought that you were great last night. The judges were right when they said you have come a very long way in this competition, and hopefully with our help you will go even further!! We'll be watching tonight.
# Posted By Janet K | 5/5/09 7:43 AM
Loved your dances last night. My husband and I started laughing when you danced just for Jewel but then you comments afterwards totally cracked us up. Such a guy. When this is over you need to do a Dance Video, Dance moves for the Real Guy. No matter what happens tonight , you have truly made this season worth watching.

Great job, General, we appreciated the salute as well as the GREAT dancing! It's also so cool of you to take the time to blog for us, even when we know how tired you must be after all the hard work! Hang in, we are marching and voting and looking forward to tonight!

It's going to be an uphill battle this time, but by no means impossible. The judges comments were severley biased, IMHO. If this competition was JUST about dancing, why even invite the Steve-O's, the Wozniaks, the Belinda Carlisle's onto the show?

What makes this show interesting is the MANY factors that allows a contestant to advance. Yes, in almost all seasons save for when Emmit Smith beat Mario Lopez, dancing has been an almost overriding factor. But I think it is and has been the wrong way to go for this show. So many times, we know who is going to win because they are such dominant dancers. Boring.

Kristi Yamaguci wasneasily picked to be the winner by Week 3 because she had no competition to contend with, she were so dominant. To say her ice-skating background was no advantage is absurd. It's about as close to DWTS as can be. So why even cast the Adam Carollas or the Penn Jillettes if they have no chance whatsoever?

We the audience can vote to send a message that it shouldn't just be about the best dancing because then those with no background in dancing have no chance ever, and the show is much better with these types of people on it.

So I'm still voting for Ty. I would like to see him outlast someone in the "Big 4" just to send the message that it SHOULDN'T JUST be about dancing, character counts too, as does improvement and work ethic. Ty wins a lot of these other catagories.

Otherwise, the show should stop recruiting people with any type of dance performance experience, like ballet, hip-hop, or even gymnastics because it is too much of an advantage over the LT's and Denise Richard's of the world. Or ONLY recruit these types and have these heavyweights battle it out. But mixing the two always means the true 'never danced before' cast members get annialted.

So vote for Ty. Let DWTS know that it CAN'T just be about the best dancer -too many absolute ringers- but that improvement should be just as important.

Good Luck, Ty and Chelsie, whatever happens, you can always hold your heads up high. People say that all the time, but this time you both really can. I'm hoping for the best, and that your continued presence will show what many of us like about the show other than JUST dancing.

Ty and Chelsie - We thought you did a great job last night with both dances! What a treat it is to see someone with your honesty, integrity and commitment on TV. I know that there are others with those same traits, but somehow it just seems to radiate from you. Jewel and your family must be so proud of you! I know that your fans in Ohio are behind you!

Good Luck Tonight!

That solo to Jewel was the cutest thing EVER!!!!!! omg!! How can anyone NOT love you?!?! :)

Ty, Your tango was great! For some reason, I don't understand the rumba...maybe misconceptions about what constitutes a good one, and not caring for the music. It hasn't been my favorite from any of the contestants. But, you did get your hips going, and I loved the bit for Jewel (you sure made her blush).

The judging is difficult to predict, like any subjectively scored contest. If there are certain dos and don'ts in a dance, the scores should be relatively consistent and there should be a consensus among the judges. But if Carrie Ann and Bruno like a routine, Len doesn't and vice versa. Sometimes I wonder if they are judging the same dance.

As to the rules for DWTS, I could (grudgingly) go along with judging a rehearsal if a person is injured. I didn't care for it either time it was done this season. But to give the same score for a rehearsal performance where a contestant stops (more than once) during the routine as someone who dances in the live show is wrong. Plus, awarding the same score to someone who doesn't dance as was awarded to contestants who danced isn't right either.

Don't get me wrong, Melissa is a beautiful woman, with loads of style and grace (she was one of my initial picks to go all the way). All I'm saying is that, in my opinion, the rules could use a little tweaking before next season.

Anyway, Ty and Chelsie, I love watching you. Your hard work, humor, and fan appeal is an inspiration.

You were alsome I like the solo with Jewel .We voted on all of are phones. All the cowboys and PBR fans are proud of you
# Posted By txhorse | 5/5/09 8:26 AM
Caught your salutes (both of you)....thanks for the recognition!
Way underscored for the AT....while others were way overscored on their routines(???????) I didn't even LIKE some of them and figured it was more on technique than ambiance.
The Rumba.....well maybe that was a bit tough.....but Gilles' wasn't so much better (even though HE got high marks!). I was kinda disappointed in all the other routines....they lacked fire and fun. At least your Rumba looked fun!
It's obvious which way the Judges are swinging. But we're swinging right back at them!!!!!! Hoooo-ya!!

Ty & Chelsie;
You did great last night. Forget every negative comment you heard, you did a great job. As usual you gave it your best shot and that shot was very good. You both should definitely be in the semi-finals, and as far as the Ty Army is concerned you are!

The PBR Fans are proud of their Champion, now and always.

Ty, you guys are awesome! I've been voting for you from week one, and you guys totally deserve to make it through again tonight! I've been voting by text, phone, and online. I even use my husband's phone to get in a few extra votes! This morning I actually created multiple accounts on ABC so that I could vote over and over again for you guys (I guess I've got a lot of time on my hands, ha ha). The show wouldn't be the same without you guys! Good luck!

VOTING HINT: If you clear the cookies from your computer after you finish voting, you can vote again. That's why some of the fans have been voting hundreds for times for their favorite. If they can, we can, too. :)

# Posted By Sharon | 5/5/09 9:19 AM
Ty & Chelsie, both your routines tonight were fab and creative. Ty, your 'John Wayne'-style of rumba is going to be part of DWTS' memorable moments. 'Weird' that your rumba solo was sweet and understated yet somewhat sexy. (Don't you think so, Jewel?)
# Posted By jcf | 5/5/09 9:32 AM
Ty! Look at all these people who have fallen in love with who you are as a person! We've connected with you thru your blogs, and now we are committed to seeing you reach the top if there is anything we have to say about it. I love it! We'll get you there, chief.

Ty and Chelsie,
GREAT JOB!! You have done a marvelous job representing the PBR, rodeo and the American western heritage. I know the old timers are extremely proud of you!!
Maybe it is time for you dance to Garth Brooks "FRIENDS IN lOW PLACES", the live and original version!! That would rock Dancing with the Stars and even if the judges didn't know what the message was, your army would!!
God's favor be with you tonight. Have a great day!

hey annie oakley, I think the difference between steve o and melissa is that melissa didn't dance AT ALL to get a score in the group dance- that's not right. melissa's total score should have just been that of her rehearsal dance.
# Posted By cancan | 5/5/09 9:41 AM
Ty: Great performances last night! Despite what Bruno might say, "likability" is vastly important and goes the distance with the audience. We vote for the ones we really like to see dance -- and in my book, that's generally a real guy bringing real guy persona to the dance floor. A few years ago it was Emmitt, and this year it's you! Good luck, and hope to see you next week!
# Posted By Sue | 5/5/09 9:48 AM
Ty,

I think you did great last night! I have voted for you all along because you are what this show is all about. I admire your work ethic and dedication. As another poster said earlier, you are the best role model for our children and young adults. I hope you go to the finals but you are already a winner. I have watched DWTS for years and this is the best season because you are a part of it. Thanks so much for blogging - I will truly miss the blogs when the show is over. You are a great person and thank you for letting us get to know you.
# Posted By trblntx | 5/5/09 9:48 AM
You're still my favorite couple and I don't think the judges were looking at just last night's dances, but judging you on how they think you are going to do - not exactly fair! You impress me with how far you've come and how much you put into this challenge - hang in there! I think you have the biggest fan base out of all of them and you do deserve the votes of confidence!
# Posted By Joyce | 5/5/09 9:50 AM
Hi Ty,
You were awesome out there, caught the salute...had to point it out to my sisters...getting a nine from Len is saying somthing...It's hard to get a high score from him...AND that solo was priceless!!!
Great job, General! Your troops are 100% behind you!!
# Posted By Peaches | 5/5/09 10:09 AM
You guys gave it your all and your troops stand behind you!! no matter what! I thought you did great and the comments from Len was nice to hear.
Loved the dances.
Just have to tell you that my husband and I just started getting into the PBR in Jan and when I heard someone from the PBR was going to perform on Dancing w/the Stars I was doubting how well that would go since I didn't know anything about you. Well I have to say after the first show I totally fell in love w/you and Chelsie. You have so much class and are a gentleman, no wonder Jewel fell in love with you. Take care -and thanks for the salutes they make us (your fans) feel special.
# Posted By Annette | 5/5/09 10:14 AM
Thank you for another week.
You must have heard us, and I hope we didn't distract you too much while you were dancing. (across the country in front of the tv!)
I guess that would have been what a gaucho would have changed into to go dancing! A flower in the lapel, that was what was missing, and quite the only thing, because you brought all of the rest.
Quite frankly, I did not see the first basic rhumba pattern in your dance. I would not have known it was a rhumba from the music or the dance. I loved Chelsie's dress, and it was a very sweet routine. There is pressure on your pro to put the celebrity out there in a pro performance; but we all know that in any pro competition, there are hundreds who do not make the first cut, with good reason. My first complaint for Apolo's first performance was that his was a routine that I could, and probably did, observe at any Dance Party hosted by the instructor of Adult Education Night School Social Ballroom Dancing Classes. Solo and all, that could be said of your rhumba. Your choreography got so involved in tricks that you didn't have a lovely hold with basic steps, and then your Cuban walk would have taken longer.
However, that said, ya'll looked good doing whatever you were doing. And more power to you, you did your own thing your own way and brought the rest of us along to enjoy it. Much to be admired. Quite takes bullriding guts.
So, thanks again, I hope to be able to recommend more selections of movies for your inspiration, because everything you have done, rodeo, ranching, and roping in Jewel, are inspiration to the world.
Keep dancin.

Just watched your dances on YouTube (but voted already hours ago)
I loved the Argentine Tango, and the Rumba was fun, hilarious and sweet. ^^
Wish you all the very best of luck.

Oh and I've tried on-line voting the same accounts on different machines,
like YellowCatTail has said yesterday, and it worked for me too! (even worked with the Virtual Machine)
So I used 4 machines and casted total of 4x votes this week.. hehe :)

You were right: you definitely left it all out on the dance floor last night! It was a wonderful time watching you shake it out and roll your hips. It was utterly charming of you to dance to Jewel. And hilarious. I agree with IJ: DWTS is not ALL about dance, or why ask very non-dancers to compete? You epitomize what the show should be: coming from sub-zero to accomplished dancer...you should be SO proud (as we are of you!). We're hoping you and Chelsie continue on...this has been an inspirational and fun ride; and obviously you got all our votes. Salutes back.

Hey All,
Ty, you and Chelsie were GREAT last night!!! I voted 95 times.
Troops,
For the first time, I read a comment from the last blog that wasn't very nice. I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone that we never respond to negativity with negativity. Just remember to ignore it and continue to encourage Ty.
Also, If you have any "ideas" about which PBR guy you'd like to see on DWTS next season...let's hear it. I'm sure they'd love to enlist in this Army.

Great job last night!! I wasn't going to watch DWTS this season until I heard you were going to be one of the stars. The only star I have voted for on past shows was Lisa Rhinna because of her effort, personality and improvement on the show. I was happy to see that she is going to be dancing tonight with one of the aspiring professionals.

I'm voting again this year for you. Proud to be a part of your troops. Love to hear you talk to us during the PBR events. You're going to have to do another "shark cage" dance when you get back to the PBR. Can't wait for the results tonight. Whatever happens, you've made the show worth watching.

Hi, Ty!

Great job you two! Very nice Argentine Tango ("love" that kitty kat bathrobe, Ty - LOL!), and WOOHOO....I had to open all the windows when you did that rhumba solo!! If you're going to continue to swivel those hips, Ty, they need to have a fire truck on site!

Thanks for the salute to all of us out here in the trenchs, Ty. I'll be watching tonight, and wish you and Chelsie the very best to the Semi-finals - you've worked very hard to achieve your place on the leader board, and I'm all in....looking forward to watching tonight and seeing you and Chelsie "march on" into next week's challenge.

I think the judges thought that last night was your last night. We'll see how your fans did! I'm not as clever with the computer as some of these folks, so I just voted by phone! Even that is more than I've ever done for these types of shows before this season! I agree with the people who've said that you brought class and humor to the show--that cowboy charm! I hope you got to see the guys on Versus the other night with their sleeveless shirts and supposed spray-on tans! Hilarious! Good luck tonight. This has been great for the PBR!

Ty I've watched you and the PBR for 8 years now, religiously, my love for the sport borders on being a bit obsessive, BUT, as much as I love my bullriding, I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed watching you take this journey that's been so very far out of your comfort zone and to watch you do it with cowboy style!! You are such an inspiration to us all...Good luck tonight and we'll see you there !!

You were awesome Ty, you wanna know why? Because no matter what you have the biggest smile on your face. My boys always say "thats my hero" every single time they see you on the tv, your a true inspiration to them and it is nice that they can look up to a celeb as great as you. Your troops are behind you, and I didn't stop voting last night. I even voted with my mom's email address, and used two cells, two landlines and all the texts I could get in. Hang in there, you'll know soon.

Your dances were fantastic last night! Loved the rhumba solo (definitely worthy of double dividends lol)! Good luck tonight...You got all the votes from this house & I know your army will pull you through. I saw the salute from you, Chelsie & Jewel - thank you & salute to you all - so proud of you! Good luck tonight!

Ty, it is amazing how far you have come in DWS. You represent all a real champion is. We are so proud of you and I know Jewel and Chelsie are also.
We voted as much as we could. The army has been there for you and I just hope with your great dancing and our votes, you will be in the competition next week. You will always be a winner in our eyes and I think a lot more eyes were opened up to the sport of bull ridiing and showed just how humble, polite, gentlemanly and inspiring a bull rider is in a very difficult and dangerous sport.
We all COWBOY'D UP, what a team effort.

Good luck to you and Chelsie tonight!

I enjoyed your performances last night and thought the solo for Jewel was cute and funny as hell! Your comment before getting your scores was funny as well.
# Posted By Jennifer | 5/5/09 12:18 PM
Ty,

You and Chelsie BROUGHT IT last night! In my opinion, your Argentine Tango was underscored as was your Rumba. You are awesome and are the only reason my cowboy hubby is watching this show - and VOTING - each and every week. I so hope your army shows the world a few things this evening by your remaining in the competition.

You are absolutely what this show is all about and, considering that every other contestant left is a seasoned performer, you deserve that mirror ball trophy.

I do marketing for a living and have thought from the beginning that they were holding you until the end every stinkin' night because you were receiving SO MANY fan votes. They couldn't let you go too soon in fear of all of your fans changing the channel afterward.

Oh, and Jewel, I completely agreed with your comments last week. Way to stand with your man and be a voice of reason.

Rock on, Cowboy!

Ty and Jewel,
We are all behind you with or without DWTS. You are indeed the "Best of the Best" and have inspired all of us to do better and be better. I was reading some of the comments and came across the one written by PZ with this link. http://www.pzpower.com/articles/article_content.ph......
And it just about sums it up for me. For those who have not read it, please take the time to do so. I also liked what Flint Rasmussen had to say about you and the whimps on the show on his PBR blog.
Go getum Cowboy!! You make us Proud.

hi ty, it's susie from louisiana---

WOW---you and chelsie did a fine and dandy job last night on BOTH of your dances. i've got a feeling that the judges are going to be a bit disappointed when you get saved tonight ! they don't have a clue how big your ARMY is. so ty, don't hang up those dancing cowboy boots just yet. i promise you, it's not over. i also want to thank you and chelsie both for the salute.

ty, we can't be letting any of those other contestants be thinking that they are going to take that ( NEW BELT BUCKLE ) home with them !!! haha

by the way , you got all my votes too. ME---MYSELF---AND I !!! ALL 3 OF US VOTED FOR YOU !

TY, what can i say, except looking forward to next week with you and chelsie. so you just KEEP ON KEEPING ON !

ok JEWEL, one more time (YOU ARE ONE LUCKY LADY )
# Posted By susie from louisiana | 5/5/09 12:46 PM
cancan I am with you. I though Melissa was scored way too
high for her practice. Even stopping at one time to pull up
her pants! If Ty had been injured you could bet your ranch that he would not have had to stay out a week to heal a sore rib. I love the fire Jewel has and she has every
right to stand up for her Cowboy!
# Posted By farmgirl | 5/5/09 1:04 PM
Ty & Chelsie: Good luck tonight we are hopeing for the best. We have maxed out our votes for you.

Never watched DWTS until this season because you are on it....Mom & I don't miss it. We are soooo impressed by your gentleman ways and honesty and sense of humor!!! No matter what happens tonight, you are still a winner!!!
# Posted By cheryl | 5/5/09 1:26 PM
Ty, I am an avid PBR & rodeo fan and have thoroughly enjoyed this season of Dancing With the Stars. Cowboys rule in my book and I believe your army of fans have shown this to the rest of the world! We even out did the NFL gang!! I have really enjoyed seeing the other's comments such as the Iron Man & Justin McBride! I even saw Dr. Tandy with a bow TY on week before last. Good luck tonight - I believe you have won the hearts of many that were not PBR fans before!
# Posted By Patty Williamson | 5/5/09 1:45 PM
Good luck Ty and Chelsie. Ty I thought you were the best, but you are my hero, and what does a 7 year old know about dancing. Lets talk bulls and I know, but I know you are my favorite and I hope you two make it. Jewell is cute too, boy did she get red, good job on the hips. I learned a dance in preschool using my hips and we called it the hoola hoop. It won me a dance contest at one of the bull ridings we did at a county fair. I am hoping and praying you stay.

Ty, I caught the salute, thanks! I just wanted you to know that I thought you did really well last night, even with the Rumba. It's inspiring to see you do something out of your comfort zone to bring more recognition to a sport that you love so much. Because of you, your fans are even prouder and more loyal to that same sport. I love the PBR, but everytime i watch you dance, I'm reminded of why I love it so much. You are great example of the kind of character that is evident in all of the riders I love to watch every weekend. You are a stand up guy Ty and no matter who wins this thing in the heart of your troops you and chelsea are the real winners. Oh and by the way, I dont think there was a female PBR fan that wouldnt have traded places with Jewel last night for the last part of your Rumba! Well done! Jewel is one lucky lady. Good luck tonight! Annie

Ty, you are awesome. I live in Pueblo, CO, and took my resume to the PBR headquarters today. You are inspiring! Best of luck tonight. No matter what - you and Jewel are WINNERS!
# Posted By Julie Levi | 5/5/09 1:55 PM
Love you guys. Jewel is one lucky woman. Too bad I'm old enough to be your mom!!!! Only Joking, best of luck to you and Chelsie this evening. And Jewel, your are the best. See you all in Pueblo.

Best of Luck tonight Ty! I will be very proud of you no matter the outcome!I would love to see you in the final four but I really can't complain because you and Chelsie made this show worth watching for me this season.
# Posted By Christina | 5/5/09 2:42 PM
Congratulations on two well performed dances! Loved the Argentine Tango and the Rumba, well, that had to just make everyone SMILE, some very nice moves in it and what a great ending for the solo!! They were both fun to watch and it looked like you had a good time too. I am glad that you got the nice compliments from Len on the Argentine Tango. He does not give those very often. Will be tuned in tonight to see the results.
# Posted By Leah | 5/5/09 2:43 PM
Ty and Chelsie, Win, lose or draw you are the class of the field!! I hope the all the "army" was as busy as I was last night calling friends and family to vote. I watched Buzz one yahoo entertainment and the host raved about how far you've come, what a gentleman Ty has been and agreed with us that you two should be in the final four. I've missed you at pbr events, but have enjoyed watching you and getting to hear from Jewel on her blog. Love the pics.
# Posted By Mary | 5/5/09 4:39 PM
Ty - I absolutely loved your AT last night. I heard so many comments that you would not be able to bring the emotion of the dance but that is exactly what you did and Len acknowledged you for it. You were every bit the gaucho. I loved it when you went to the bar and slammed down a drink. Brilliant choreography from Chelsie and you did her proud. For me personally, hearing compliments from Len means something because he is an actual ballroom judge. You brought it for team tango and you brought it for that AT and Len knew that. So while he criticizes you he also knows when to compliment you.

Whatever happens tonight no one can deny what you have brought to this competition that has set you apart.

Ty - WOW, It was so exciting watching you live last night. You did AWESOME, thanks for making it such a GREAT show! I'm sure the judges scores combined with the massive voting from "THE ARMY" you and Chelsie will be setting good tonight for the semi finals.....NO WORRIES! Looking forward to tonights show. Love you lots, Kerri

Hello Ty - I am from Glasgow in Scotland and have become a fan of you and Chelsie you are my favourite couple on the show. I had never heard of you before but I think you and Jewel are both wonderful people a beautiful couple and Chelsie is a fab dancer . Here in the UK we don't get to see the show on Tv until Friday but had a quick look at both dances on YouTube. I really enjoyed both of the dances but thought your solo in the rumba was soo lovely it was very sweet. I missed the deadline on voting for you online but I want to wish you and Chelsie the best of luck for tonight and whatever happens you have both been fantastic.
hugs Nina x

Thank you Ty and Jewel. Ty your try and accomplishments are amazing. Jewel it is so heartwarming to see how you inspire Ty and stand by him. My sis and I have flat fingertips from voting. We are behind you 100% Ty. I think asking each couple to learn two dances in a week is one too many but you do it and do it so well. It is a challenge that seems overwhelming. You and Chelsie are working so hard and it shows. We are looking forward to seeing you tonight Tuesday and the following weeks. We already belong to the PBR and are so thankful for your presence to make more people aware of the PBR. Ty, you are a real inspiration. Thanks Trish

We caught the salute! We are behind you all the way! No matter how it goes tonight, you've made a fan out of me, and a lot of people got to know a great guy and a loyal and devoted couple. God bless and good luck!

Im getting really nervous but hopeing like crazy that you are safe ;) I voted so much that my fingers hurt from texting and calling. LOL! Good luck tonight, and I hope to see you back to prove those judges WRONG once again.

Yeah, the cowboy takes it again!!!!! You did again this week. You have made TEXAS happy.

Me and my sisters love you from way back rodeo.

Well I voted for you on my flight home from the PBR at Worcester MA, during my layover in MN. I got to vote by phone and computer. I hope it helped, and after tonight I know someones votes helped. Congratulations on your win again tonight.

Wow!! I'm thrilled to see our General hold his head up high and lead this Army of fans onward. Chelsie and you have been a breath of fresh air for Dancing With the Stars. You have added such joy in watching your progress every week and doing it with grace. Wow!! IT HAS BEEN QUITE A RIDE!!!
Cowboy Up doesn't have to be said anymore as you have certainly surpassed that. This core of Ty's Army couldn't be any happier or more pleased. You guys ROCK!! Sonna
# Posted By Sonna | 5/6/09 12:58 AM
How exciting to see you improving each week! Your good humor, your work ethic and never give up attitude are truly inspirational! I don't guess I can say anything good enough about you and how proud we all are of you that hasn't already been said. We don't live too far from you, and we are "country cowboy" type people, too. You represent the BEST of what is American: good solid values, grace under pressure, and dignity even when receiving negative feed back from the judges. With style and good humor, humility and determination, I look forward to you going all the way in this competition, and if the voters are the final say, it really looks good for you! Keep up the great work!! May God bless you and Chelsea and Jewel!

Hi Ty!
Been trying to post once a week here to congratulate you and show my encouragement for ya. You're doing awesome man! Hopefully, I'll get the chance to talk to you at the finals in November this year at some point (my November reservations are already booked for this year's finals again).
Take care and best of luck next week!

Ty ... I have watched DWTS every season. I think that people appreciate the effort and dedication that you put into the competition. You might not be the best dancer and I know I am not the only one surprised at you being in the final four BUT you represent what this show is about ... hard work, dedication and improvement. Keep working on your "solo" and you too moght one day have a "bionic booty". Good luck Ty!
# Posted By Rose | 5/6/09 5:39 PM
Hey Ty, Yall are on your way!!! It just goes to show just how BIG the PBR is.You are doing a fine job of representing the Cowboy. Good Luck next week.We will be voting for you.
# Posted By patricia | 5/6/09 6:40 PM
So sorry to see Ty go. This has been the most enjoyable DWTS for me because of Ty. I'm decorating my family room and kitchen in a cowboy theme. Jewel now that Ty isn't going to be dancing , could I borrow Ty for awhile to add some class to the place? I'm a harmless 70 year old, so nothing to worry about.
# Posted By justfoolinu | 5/13/09 3:31 AM
Hey, Ty!

I'm going to miss you, Chelsie, and Jewel on DWTS, but, you were AUDACIOUS, Cowboy! Looking forward to seeing you back on the BFTS, Ty.

Take good care,

You were right: you definitely left it all out on the dance floor last night! It was a wonderful time watching you shake it out and roll your hips. It was utterly charming of you to dance to Jewel. And hilarious. I agree with IJ: DWTS is not ALL about dance, or why ask very non-dancers to compete? You epitomize what the show should be: coming from sub-zero to accomplished dancer...you should be SO proud (as we are of you!). We're hoping you http://www.limewire.bz and Chelsie continue on...this has been an inspirational and fun ride; and obviously you got all our votes. Salutes back.
