Hey troops, we just got done eating after the show. Me, Jewel and Chelsie went and had a nice dinner together.
I'm just checking in with you.
We got some good comments from Len, which was nice. That's really the first time we got a good comment from him along with a nine, so that wasn't too bad and we tied our highest score with a 25 in the Argentine Tango.
And our Rumba, although it wasn't great, maybe it wasn't as bad as they were expecting. After all, I know Jewel like my Rumba, especially the solo!
I was really glad to have my sisters – Kimber and Kerri – there supporting me tonight.
We'll just have to wait and see how it goes tomorrow night, but I feel like we have the biggest army going behind us and that's really going to help. Chelsie and I both appreciate all the support and I hope everyone caught the salute tonight.
I'll check back in with you tomorrow.
I have read so many blogs, for the first time in my life, and what I find over and over again are people talking about how they are now going to check out the PBR because of you and what a perfect Ambassador you are for not only bull riding but the Cowboy way of life as well.
I don't just say this---I truly mean from every fiber of my being--you are the role model our youth need so badly.
You are a hard-working, loyal, down to earth gentleman that anyone would be proud to know.
PS Your sense of humor cracks me up.
Best of luck tomorrow. Signed, your most loyal soldier
The Tango was great and the Rumba wasn't half bad. That was sweet doing you hip swing thing for Jewell, but if you're back next week, let Chesie do the choreography. Congrats on your 9's and hope you're getting that pay-off. I'll be on pins and needles waiting for tomorrow night's show. Fingers crossed, Kathy P
P.S. I love the blog. What did you have for dinner?

This is a tv show, based as you know on judges and the votes of the public. They have a whole lot of money invested in the entire season of the show, and it is apparent from reading Ty's blog on here that the dancers are working like Trojans just to get ready for each week.
Steve O was the first dancer to be injured and judged on rehearsal, yet you don't slam him, just another woman, Melissa, and a good dancer.
Now I like Ty and wish he could win, just because I like people to win who carry themselves well in public, are polite, and at least show a sense of fair play and humility.
Jewel, you really don't help Ty's case when you come out in public complaining like this. Julianna Hough complained in public, making her and her partner look small and petty.
The show has to act in the best interest of keeping the show going, not just in making a sports competition fair or a bull riding event played by the strict rules.
If it had been Ty that had been injured, with hope of returning in a week, I'd want him to be given a chance, too.
I just watched your dances again on You Tube. I liked them even better the second (and third!) time. Chelsie is one good teacher. I agree with Len, I think the Argentine Tango is your best dance yet. Good luck tonight. I'll never forget that Rumba solo - maybe it'll become a standard dance move and be named after you:)
There's a lot of people power-voting for you, and as long as you still want to be on the ride, we will do our best to keep you in it.
What makes this show interesting is the MANY factors that allows a contestant to advance. Yes, in almost all seasons save for when Emmit Smith beat Mario Lopez, dancing has been an almost overriding factor. But I think it is and has been the wrong way to go for this show. So many times, we know who is going to win because they are such dominant dancers. Boring.
Kristi Yamaguci wasneasily picked to be the winner by Week 3 because she had no competition to contend with, she were so dominant. To say her ice-skating background was no advantage is absurd. It's about as close to DWTS as can be. So why even cast the Adam Carollas or the Penn Jillettes if they have no chance whatsoever?
We the audience can vote to send a message that it shouldn't just be about the best dancing because then those with no background in dancing have no chance ever, and the show is much better with these types of people on it.
So I'm still voting for Ty. I would like to see him outlast someone in the "Big 4" just to send the message that it SHOULDN'T JUST be about dancing, character counts too, as does improvement and work ethic. Ty wins a lot of these other catagories.
Otherwise, the show should stop recruiting people with any type of dance performance experience, like ballet, hip-hop, or even gymnastics because it is too much of an advantage over the LT's and Denise Richard's of the world. Or ONLY recruit these types and have these heavyweights battle it out. But mixing the two always means the true 'never danced before' cast members get annialted.
So vote for Ty. Let DWTS know that it CAN'T just be about the best dancer -too many absolute ringers- but that improvement should be just as important.
Good Luck, Ty and Chelsie, whatever happens, you can always hold your heads up high. People say that all the time, but this time you both really can. I'm hoping for the best, and that your continued presence will show what many of us like about the show other than JUST dancing.
Good Luck Tonight!
That solo to Jewel was the cutest thing EVER!!!!!! omg!! How can anyone NOT love you?!?! :)

The judging is difficult to predict, like any subjectively scored contest. If there are certain dos and don'ts in a dance, the scores should be relatively consistent and there should be a consensus among the judges. But if Carrie Ann and Bruno like a routine, Len doesn't and vice versa. Sometimes I wonder if they are judging the same dance.
As to the rules for DWTS, I could (grudgingly) go along with judging a rehearsal if a person is injured. I didn't care for it either time it was done this season. But to give the same score for a rehearsal performance where a contestant stops (more than once) during the routine as someone who dances in the live show is wrong. Plus, awarding the same score to someone who doesn't dance as was awarded to contestants who danced isn't right either.
Don't get me wrong, Melissa is a beautiful woman, with loads of style and grace (she was one of my initial picks to go all the way). All I'm saying is that, in my opinion, the rules could use a little tweaking before next season.
Anyway, Ty and Chelsie, I love watching you. Your hard work, humor, and fan appeal is an inspiration.
Way underscored for the AT....while others were way overscored on their routines(???????) I didn't even LIKE some of them and figured it was more on technique than ambiance.
The Rumba.....well maybe that was a bit tough.....but Gilles' wasn't so much better (even though HE got high marks!). I was kinda disappointed in all the other routines....they lacked fire and fun. At least your Rumba looked fun!
It's obvious which way the Judges are swinging. But we're swinging right back at them!!!!!! Hoooo-ya!!
You did great last night. Forget every negative comment you heard, you did a great job. As usual you gave it your best shot and that shot was very good. You both should definitely be in the semi-finals, and as far as the Ty Army is concerned you are!
The PBR Fans are proud of their Champion, now and always.
VOTING HINT: If you clear the cookies from your computer after you finish voting, you can vote again. That's why some of the fans have been voting hundreds for times for their favorite. If they can, we can, too. :)
GREAT JOB!! You have done a marvelous job representing the PBR, rodeo and the American western heritage. I know the old timers are extremely proud of you!!
Maybe it is time for you dance to Garth Brooks "FRIENDS IN lOW PLACES", the live and original version!! That would rock Dancing with the Stars and even if the judges didn't know what the message was, your army would!!
God's favor be with you tonight. Have a great day!
Lynda from Az.
I think you did great last night! I have voted for you all along because you are what this show is all about. I admire your work ethic and dedication. As another poster said earlier, you are the best role model for our children and young adults. I hope you go to the finals but you are already a winner. I have watched DWTS for years and this is the best season because you are a part of it. Thanks so much for blogging - I will truly miss the blogs when the show is over. You are a great person and thank you for letting us get to know you.
You were awesome out there, caught the salute...had to point it out to my sisters...getting a nine from Len is saying somthing...It's hard to get a high score from him...AND that solo was priceless!!!
Great job, General! Your troops are 100% behind you!!
Loved the dances.
Just have to tell you that my husband and I just started getting into the PBR in Jan and when I heard someone from the PBR was going to perform on Dancing w/the Stars I was doubting how well that would go since I didn't know anything about you. Well I have to say after the first show I totally fell in love w/you and Chelsie. You have so much class and are a gentleman, no wonder Jewel fell in love with you. Take care -and thanks for the salutes they make us (your fans) feel special.
You must have heard us, and I hope we didn't distract you too much while you were dancing. (across the country in front of the tv!)
I guess that would have been what a gaucho would have changed into to go dancing! A flower in the lapel, that was what was missing, and quite the only thing, because you brought all of the rest.
Quite frankly, I did not see the first basic rhumba pattern in your dance. I would not have known it was a rhumba from the music or the dance. I loved Chelsie's dress, and it was a very sweet routine. There is pressure on your pro to put the celebrity out there in a pro performance; but we all know that in any pro competition, there are hundreds who do not make the first cut, with good reason. My first complaint for Apolo's first performance was that his was a routine that I could, and probably did, observe at any Dance Party hosted by the instructor of Adult Education Night School Social Ballroom Dancing Classes. Solo and all, that could be said of your rhumba. Your choreography got so involved in tricks that you didn't have a lovely hold with basic steps, and then your Cuban walk would have taken longer.
However, that said, ya'll looked good doing whatever you were doing. And more power to you, you did your own thing your own way and brought the rest of us along to enjoy it. Much to be admired. Quite takes bullriding guts.
So, thanks again, I hope to be able to recommend more selections of movies for your inspiration, because everything you have done, rodeo, ranching, and roping in Jewel, are inspiration to the world.
Keep dancin.
I loved the Argentine Tango, and the Rumba was fun, hilarious and sweet. ^^
Wish you all the very best of luck.
Oh and I've tried on-line voting the same accounts on different machines,
like YellowCatTail has said yesterday, and it worked for me too! (even worked with the Virtual Machine)
So I used 4 machines and casted total of 4x votes this week.. hehe :)
As always you put a great effort into your dancing. Noone trys any harder than you do. I think you are doing a great job. You are a geat representatve for the PBR and the Cowboy way. We are proud of you. Good Luck tonight.
Paula
Just read the voting hint SA02V09J has posted, so it's because of the cookies dTvTb ..haha such a knucklehead I am
Great dancing last night! You will return because you are most honest and down to earth!!
Good luck on Tuesday, me and the wife will be watching...again.
All our Love from CO!

You are the greatest! You were before DWTS, you are during DWTS, and you will be long after DWTS!!
You have more than fame--you have a loyal Army!
Shelia in North Carolina
Ty, you and Chelsie were GREAT last night!!! I voted 95 times.
Troops,
For the first time, I read a comment from the last blog that wasn't very nice. I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone that we never respond to negativity with negativity. Just remember to ignore it and continue to encourage Ty.
Also, If you have any "ideas" about which PBR guy you'd like to see on DWTS next season...let's hear it. I'm sure they'd love to enlist in this Army.
Jennifer from Ca
I'm voting again this year for you. Proud to be a part of your troops. Love to hear you talk to us during the PBR events. You're going to have to do another "shark cage" dance when you get back to the PBR. Can't wait for the results tonight. Whatever happens, you've made the show worth watching.
Great job you two! Very nice Argentine Tango ("love" that kitty kat bathrobe, Ty - LOL!), and WOOHOO....I had to open all the windows when you did that rhumba solo!! If you're going to continue to swivel those hips, Ty, they need to have a fire truck on site!
Thanks for the salute to all of us out here in the trenchs, Ty. I'll be watching tonight, and wish you and Chelsie the very best to the Semi-finals - you've worked very hard to achieve your place on the leader board, and I'm all in....looking forward to watching tonight and seeing you and Chelsie "march on" into next week's challenge.
Sincerely,

Buying a ticket to a PBR Bullriding Event....Mastercard....
Watching Ty Murray do a "lap" dance for Jewel on national television ...Priceless !! Loved it!! Loved it!!
Ty I've watched you and the PBR for 8 years now, religiously, my love for the sport borders on being a bit obsessive, BUT, as much as I love my bullriding, I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed watching you take this journey that's been so very far out of your comfort zone and to watch you do it with cowboy style!! You are such an inspiration to us all...Good luck tonight and we'll see you there !!
We voted as much as we could. The army has been there for you and I just hope with your great dancing and our votes, you will be in the competition next week. You will always be a winner in our eyes and I think a lot more eyes were opened up to the sport of bull ridiing and showed just how humble, polite, gentlemanly and inspiring a bull rider is in a very difficult and dangerous sport.
We all COWBOY'D UP, what a team effort.
I enjoyed your performances last night and thought the solo for Jewel was cute and funny as hell! Your comment before getting your scores was funny as well.
You and Chelsie BROUGHT IT last night! In my opinion, your Argentine Tango was underscored as was your Rumba. You are awesome and are the only reason my cowboy hubby is watching this show - and VOTING - each and every week. I so hope your army shows the world a few things this evening by your remaining in the competition.
You are absolutely what this show is all about and, considering that every other contestant left is a seasoned performer, you deserve that mirror ball trophy.
I do marketing for a living and have thought from the beginning that they were holding you until the end every stinkin' night because you were receiving SO MANY fan votes. They couldn't let you go too soon in fear of all of your fans changing the channel afterward.
Oh, and Jewel, I completely agreed with your comments last week. Way to stand with your man and be a voice of reason.
Rock on, Cowboy!
We are all behind you with or without DWTS. You are indeed the "Best of the Best" and have inspired all of us to do better and be better. I was reading some of the comments and came across the one written by PZ with this link. http://www.pzpower.com/articles/article_content.ph......
And it just about sums it up for me. For those who have not read it, please take the time to do so. I also liked what Flint Rasmussen had to say about you and the whimps on the show on his PBR blog.
Go getum Cowboy!! You make us Proud.
Blondemare
WOW---you and chelsie did a fine and dandy job last night on BOTH of your dances. i've got a feeling that the judges are going to be a bit disappointed when you get saved tonight ! they don't have a clue how big your ARMY is. so ty, don't hang up those dancing cowboy boots just yet. i promise you, it's not over. i also want to thank you and chelsie both for the salute.
ty, we can't be letting any of those other contestants be thinking that they are going to take that ( NEW BELT BUCKLE ) home with them !!! haha
by the way , you got all my votes too. ME---MYSELF---AND I !!! ALL 3 OF US VOTED FOR YOU !
TY, what can i say, except looking forward to next week with you and chelsie. so you just KEEP ON KEEPING ON !
ok JEWEL, one more time (YOU ARE ONE LUCKY LADY )
high for her practice. Even stopping at one time to pull up
her pants! If Ty had been injured you could bet your ranch that he would not have had to stay out a week to heal a sore rib. I love the fire Jewel has and she has every
right to stand up for her Cowboy!
Whatever happens tonight no one can deny what you have brought to this competition that has set you apart.
hugs Nina x
Me and my sisters love you from way back rodeo.
Jeana, ND
Cowboy Up doesn't have to be said anymore as you have certainly surpassed that. This core of Ty's Army couldn't be any happier or more pleased. You guys ROCK!! Sonna
Been trying to post once a week here to congratulate you and show my encouragement for ya. You're doing awesome man! Hopefully, I'll get the chance to talk to you at the finals in November this year at some point (my November reservations are already booked for this year's finals again).
Take care and best of luck next week!
Jim
I'm going to miss you, Chelsie, and Jewel on DWTS, but, you were AUDACIOUS, Cowboy! Looking forward to seeing you back on the BFTS, Ty.
Take good care,
