This weekend I'm headed down the road to Victoria, Texas to a Discovery tour event and then I'll catch a flight back up to Canada for another Rocky Cup event. Lately I've just been trying to work my way back on to the Built Ford Tough Series.
It's been going almost as planned and I've been winning money. I had hoped to be back by now, but I'm well on my way. Another good weekend should put me over the top and back on the BFTS.
What's amazing to me is that everybody who got cut the first time – me, Colby Yates and Harve Stewart – we've been traveling together a lot, but it's just in the past couple of weeks that we all got that fire back that we lost.
You can feel it when you're riding in the vehicle with one another and you can see it at the events when we're getting on our bulls. We're just now getting over the depression of getting cut from the tour.
First and foremost we're bull riders and that's what we do whether we're at a BFTS, Challenger tour, Enterprise tour or a Discovery tour event. It doesn't matter to us where we're at and it's pretty cool because everybody's on fire and keeping each other built up at the same time.
I think everybody will be back.
I know Clayton Williams got hurt last week, up in Canada, so he'll be out for a while. I don't know about L.J. Jenkins and Kolt Donaldson yet, it might take them a few weeks to get over that depression – the same as it did us.
Eventually the cream will rise to the top just like does every time and we'll all be back before too long.
It's kind of frustrating to sit at home and watch the events on Sunday. It's tough to see all your buddies doing well and not be able to be there and, at least, supporting them and having them support you.
But, like I said, first and foremost we're bull riders no matter what tour we're on so I'm just going to have fun, try to do the best I can, praise God and try to win.
Thank you for still doing the blog. It was nice to finally read your words again. I wish you the best of luck and KNOW that you will earn your way back to the BFTS soon. Take care and stay safe!
Ps: Does anyone know how I can get Colby Yates Cd?? I won't be at any PBR events 'til Tulsa so I was hoping I could get on mailed to me. Thanks for any help!!
I'm also extremely happy to read another of your posts. Just today we were wondering what was going on with you.
Take care of yourself, stay safe and soon you'll be in the arena for a BFTS event, not watching it on television.
So glad to see that you are writing your blog again. I missed hearing from you. It sounds like you have the right attitude again. It must have been hard being cut, but God has a plan and you are a part of it. Keep on, keeping on. See you soon. God bless you.
First off, the Challenger standings can be found at: http://www.pbrnow.com/competition/ct/standings/
You can also see how those riders have done at any given lower level event by going to the rider page of the rider you're interested in tracking.
In the lower rectangular box that lists the "2009 BFTS Stats" there is a tab labeled “2009 CTS Events.” If you click that then you'll have a chance to select a sub-tab labeled "Challenger" or "Enterprise" or "Discovery."
That's where you're going to find a list of individual events that the rider has attended as well as how much money, if any, they won at that particular event.
I hope my directions are clear enough to follow. I just wanted to make sure you all are aware of the fact that, yes, the results are available. Please keep in mind those results aren't updated as quickly as the BFTS stats, but they are updated in pretty timely fashion.
Great to hear from you.
Glad to hear you're having fun and riding bulls. You'll be back on tour before you know it.
We're looking forward to it. Bull riding hasn't been the same since you were cut.
Keep the faith and we'll see you soon. You'll be on top and not have to worry about the cut anymore.
GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU SOON!

Reese,
keep riding hard you'll be back on tour soon. All your fans still believe in you. You have such a talent for writing, even if it's just an update on things you make very hard to stop reading it. Have fun, in know you will be doing great! keep your faith in the Lord. "He never will put anything on you that you cant handle"
God Bless
Glad your writing again. I saw the tour in Wheeling WV. It was really great to see riders in person and watch them ride. The PBR is great to bring the events to the people at prices they can afford. The closest Ford Tough event is 2 1/2 hours away and unafordable to some. Keep up the faith and you'll be back up on top before long.
I was so glad to see Evan Rasch made it back after many years of being off. I love the Rasch boys. So with a lot of work and good luck it can be done. I'm glad you are trying so hard and very proud of you.
See you soon!!! :-)
take care!!!

also, hope to see more blogs at a regular basis from you. Miss
the stories!
great! How about a new blog - we need some entertaining reading!
Glad to see you back on the BFTS! But i know you've been having some trouble staying on your bulls lately. And if you ask me it's because of your confidence. You have gotten really close to covering some of them, and if you work on your confidence,i know you will be riding like you were when you won Rookie of the year.
You are awesome, and you still have all of your fans behind you and cheering you on!! best of luck

I had not realized that you made it back on tour until I saw you tonight (Saturday) in Billings (on TV). I checked and you are not current on the blog, but hopefully you will be. You are so funny in your writings, it is enjoyable. Good luck and listen to G-man and JW. Sorry I missed seeing you in Birmingham. That was my first event ever, but hopefully not my last. I particularly liked the autograph session. That is so nice of you guys to do.
