What a "meshing of my worlds."
I was in the midst of commentating Stage 15 of the Tour de France when I got an update from the PBR about the first two days in Tulsa. Congratulations to Chris Shivers and Justin McBride for their stellar rides, and it looks as though the old guard is showing the young bucks a thing or two.
It's a similar situation here at the Tour. We're in Italy today and the veterans have been telling the youngsters that it is TODAY that the REAL Tour begins!
I find myself logging in to the PBR website and looking forward to the news and as exciting as this event is, I can't wait to get back and see everyone in Nashville.
It was a long, nasty drive from France into Italy last night.
The drives are taking their toll, but the end is in sight. We have our second rest day tomorrow and everyone involved – not just the riders – is looking forward to slowing down, at least for one day.
As I mentioned before, the logistics of this endeavor boggles the mind.
As commentators we are the ones everyone "sees" at the end of the day, but we are merely part of a huge TEAM that works almost non-stop to make sure we can bring the sights and sounds of this great race.
Obviously, it's the same at a Built Ford Tough Series event – our crew is the best in the business.
We had brutal heat for a few days, but that's nothing new to most of you in PBR-Land. Summer, I'm sure, is in full-swing back in the US and surprisingly it's been a mild summer over here in Europe.
Enjoy the rest of the Tulsa competition and I'll look forward to reading the results!
All the best,
Craig
I've been enjoying reading your posts from the Tour, but if your not being here is why Versus decided not to show PBR again until August, COME HOME NOW!! :-)
Looking forward to the next update
Heather
If Versus isn't going to show PBR no more than they have this year, PBR fans are going to turn away. PBR is losing fans left and right. I know that for a fact because I talk to my friends. They have also noticed they can't see PBR like they used to.
I know your work for Versus but PBR needs to get more of ESPN2 and NBC Sports, and maybe even ABC to broadcast PBR before it is too late.

I for one think you're a very talented sportscaster and wish you were at all the events. You and McKee make a great team. I like the bullriders comments (JW, G-man, Justin) on the telecast but they should be limited to their time on the air. Very often they let their topical conversations overlap the action and it is very aggravating, not just to me either, I have been watching with others and everyone got so mad that we turned the volume down. They should watch Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully (voted best sportcaster of the 20th century) who can be commenting on a subject but always has is eye's on the monitor, when the action starts he immediately goes back to it and then flawlessly back to what he was formerly talking about. It will be good to have you back and it was good to hear you at the Olympics.
PS Craig Hummer please stop saying So To Speak, its drivin me up the walls. other than that you do a great job. Justin McKey. you crack me up! C W thanks for helping me understand bull riding.I love it when you or Ty Murry explain the finer points. For the clowns,You are the most awesome guys! I hope they pay you big bux for the dangerous job you do.You absolutely knock me out! Could we see more talk about Clowns? they dont get the press they should.I'd love to see their personal info just like the riders. They earn it!
