Harve started off like a ball of fire when he came on tour last year and then he got in a terrible slump and he couldn't ride anything, but he was riding everything. He had a bunch of 90-point rides right off the bat as soon as he got on tour last year and then he got in such a slump to where he couldn't ride a spinner.
He had to work his way back on tour.
He rode Nervous Waters in the short go and that was really impressive. It's just great to see him do that and he's just a great guy too.
I think I mentioned on air that I was holding my breath for Matt Bohon. I mean, I had a sigh of relief when he made that qualified ride.
He has just worked his tail off. Few people have worked any harder at trying to get better than he has this year. He got on 11 practice bulls. He's been working out. It's like I said before, he hasn't been doing anything wrong--he's just been getting bucked off.
He's just got to ride through it and keep getting on bulls and hope you don't get cut.
Here's the problem, and I don't think I've talked about this before, but back in the rodeo days it was easier to get out of a slump because most of the bulls you would get on at a rodeo were mediocre. If you got on five rank bulls in a row and got bucked off, why, number six would come along and he'd be a pretty nice little bull that any pro guy should stay on.
Now, you know, the long rounds at the Built Ford Tough events the bulls are just absolutely out of this world. There is no day off. There are few confidence building bulls in even the long go rounds.
It's a fight and you have got to do everything right just to stay on one.
Wasn't it great to see Matt Bohon smile again? It hurt to see him so down. I hope his ride helped his confidence a little and that he can continue covering his bulls. It would be a shame to see him cut.
I want to bring up something that has been mentioned several times before. It sure would be a hit if you put together some kind of book, I suspect humorous, of your experiences in the business; rodeo and PBR. This would center around all those "McKee-isms" like one that got med smiling in Duh-Moyne, when someone was on a fast spinning bull which you described as, "Spinning like a weathervane in a hurrican".
Man your wit is classic.
