Three things can happen with the race for the World Championship: somebody can just get on an incredible roll and in the next four events place in the Top 3, but anybody doing that besides Marchi is highly, highly unlikely.
Another thing would be to hope Marchi falls off all of his bulls at the Finals, but, once again, it's highly, highly unlikely and somebody would have to have a runaway Finals of their own.
The only other thing would be Marchi getting hurt.
There's still hope for some of the others – it's just not going to come in San Antonio or the event after that or the event after that either. Those are all things that could happen, but they're highly, highly unlikely.
For anybody else to win it they're going to have to be superior to what Marchi has done already. Far superior. Well, nobody has ever done what Marchi has done, period--ever.
So that's why it's highly unlikely, but I'm not saying that World Championship race is over, but like I said those things I mentioned are the only things that are going to change it and they're just not likely.
And all the injuries that are continuing to mount will only make it all the more difficult. It's been brutal here the past few weeks.
I'm going to say the biggest story of the weekend is just how in the world Kasey Hayes is up walking around. That's a gift from God and I hope he realizes it. I mean, there's no reason anybody should have been able to get up and walk away from that--ever.
That was as scary a wreck as I've ever seen. That has got to be Top 3 of all-time for scariest wrecks. To hit like that and have that much force behind it--I've never seen anybody stacked on their head like that with that much force. I mean, drilled like that.
Now Austin Meier, that was scary – don't get me wrong – but there's no comparison.
First of all we could see from the dirt that he got hit in the shoulder and he got drilled on his head, hard, and had he not had a helmet it might have been a different story. Not to take away from it because it was a serious, serious wreck, but this Kasey Hayes deal was just extraordinary.
Have to agree with you--I actually had to walk away from the TV because seeing the replays made me queasy. I was dumbfounded to see him get up and walk, and moving one hand...not at all surprised he broke a cervical vertebra, just amazed his neck didn't snap like a twig. It's enough to make an atheist believe in guardian angels...I got to see the Tacoma PBR event in person, and we fortunately didn't have anything too scary happen; but it seems that this time of year, the wrecks get worse. I don't know if the riders are more tired, or the bulls just more ornery with practice!
Thank you for your commentary on Versus, I so enjoy watching the PBR! Yours, Miss Kitt in WA
Guilherme is on fire right now! As much as I love watching all of the riders, I have to say that I'm cheering for him to take it all. With such a commanding lead and strong first half of the season, it would be a shame to see him lose it now.
Enjoy your break, Justin! I'm sure you are all looking forward to it.
Have to pretty much agree with you. Seems just about anything short of a serious injury will get in the way of his first, and well deserved, championship.
Over the last 4 or 5 events Marchi gave everyone an opening, but while there were some good performances by a lot of riders, no one was consistent enough to really make any headway.
Now! Isn't there anyone or anything that can fix this mess with hockey coming first and bull riding second.
Don in CA
He will be in the hospital until at least May 8th.
Marchi's game is evident: ride your bull, get a score and keep racking up points to separate yourself from the pack. Playing it smart! Very strategic! Stay healthy! And move on to the next event, that's a World Champion in living color. No FLASHY stuff, just true blue honest and clean professional bull riding. That's what the fans want to see. It isn't about flash, drama and endless chatter about what could have happened. It about what happens. Marchi is the real thing and he's getting his due!
But one thing that I was soooo happy about this weekend was Harve Stewart's success! That poor guy has struggled since before the finals last year. I believe he was battling a knee injury at the finals and just could not seem to get it a string of rides together since then. I saw him at an Enterprise event here in VA and he didn't cover either of his bulls. But he was able to pull out a win at another Enterprise event about a month later. He has such talent! I am so glad that he is working his way back on tour! Go Harve!!
Well, I am glad that the guys are getting a break. It is obvious they need one! I can't even imagine living the lives that they live on the road! I look forward to seeing them after they have been able to rest. I also can't wait for hockey season to be over!!
God Bless Ya'll!
Amen to the hockey issue.

That is so weird that it was on there Monday. It sure wasn't here 'cause I looked! I am getting so tired of staying up SO late! 10PM is way better than the 12:00 at night here!
