I just want to get on as many bulls as I can...

It definitely could have been a better weekend--on part anyway.

I got two bulls down and got some points, but it seemed like when I really needed to stay on it didn't work out for me. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes.

The key is to just forget about it. It doesn't matter if I would have won the event this weekend because next weekend it's over. Luke rode extremely well this weekend, but whenever he shows up next weekend it's not going to matter how much money he won, how bulls he rode or how many points he was. That's over with.

It's the same on my part. Next weekend it's not going to matter to me or to anybody else. If I fell off every one of my bulls or if I rode every one of my bulls I'm just going to have to go do the same thing over and over again and be consistent.

Well, to tell you the truth, it's a lot easier for me to sit here and tell you how to do it then it is for me to actually do it. It's a lot easier said than done and it's a lot easier to do when you have been staying on your bulls.

This week I'm going to get on as many bulls as I possibly can and hopefully by the time I get done getting on bulls I'll be feeling so confident in myself and my abilities that it won't matter what happens this weekend.

I'm going to fly out Thursday morning to go to San Francisco for the Challenger event – hopefully do pretty good out there and build my confidence up – then I'll fly into Omaha and hopefully have a good show there.

I'm just hoping to have so much fun riding bulls this week that I forget all about not doing good last weekend, not worry about the pressures of being a rookie or worrying about what people think. I just want to go back to having fun and just letting things happen.

What Challenger event? I checked the PBR Challenger schedule and it doesn't show anything.

But, the Grand National Rodeo is in town at the Cow Palace. I'm asking because we live about 20 miles from the Cow Palace. If that is where you'll be my wife and I will try to get over there? Do you know what time the bulls go? I can't find it on their website.
Thanks, Don Beavers, Walnut Creek, CA

Hi Reese,
Have heard a lot of good things about you from some of our local riders who work here(Trey Allen and Wesley Cryer.) and have ridden with you at NABA and other events.Keep up the good work and keep that chin tucked.

It is so great to hear from riders like you and get there oppinions on things. I don't know if you will answer, but I wanted to ask you this. What do you think of ALL the 90 point rides this year compared to last year and years past? I have been watching the PBR for about five years now and it used to be that 90 was the "gold standard" when it came to points. When a rider got 90 it was rare and caused a lot of excitement. Now, there are SEVERAL 90 point rides each round. Do you think the riders and bulls are that much better compared to last year and years past or are the judges just more lenient with the points? I know you have a busy schedual and don't want to spend your free time at the computer, but I would really like your oppinion on this. Thanks for posting on here and good luck!!!

Don, it's an Enterprise event and it starts at 7:30. Easy to understand how Reese can misunderstand just what event it is. The way these guys travel constantly, it's a wonder they ever know where they are. Reese, I look forward to seeing you ride....win in SF. I'm a huge fan of yours, have been following you in Humps and Horns this past year and was really glad to see you on BFTS. We spoke in Sacramento. I'm originally from Arkansas. Get Sticky!

Reese your doing great in the BFTS, you have a long PBR career ahead and everyone has the possibility of winning the world championship. Your covering almost 50% of your bulls and that is not bad at all. Your fun to watch and we will always be out here yelling for you! Have fun and most of all stay healthy!

Don, Thusday night is the only PBR event. The other nights are PRCA. Some of the top guys should attend both..trying to remember who won the PRCA event last year. Clayton Foltyn won the PBR event. Have fun.

Hey Caligirl -
DUH! That ws what I term "A dumb don trick." A wee bit of brain-fade. ;-)

I noticed a small ad in the paper this morning and an even smaller part of it that said PBR on the 10th. Then figured you'd respond. Thanks.

So, now I have tickets for Thursday night also.

Don

PS At least their tickets are cheaper than PBR tickets. ;-)

Hey Reese, You signed my book in Anahiem and apologized because your picture wasn't in the program and I told you that it will be real soon. I love watching you ride. I think your a pretty pure rider. You are very sweet and respectful. I hope your parents are really proud of you. You are a great guy. Tell them they did a great job. God Bless you and keep ridin'.
