Ride Scoring
What separates a Good Ride from a Bad Ride?
Our Bull Riders are scored by highly trained judges, that review many aspects of there ride to decide on the score. Judges Score both the Bull's Performance and the Riders Performance separately to a combined total of 100 points. (50 points for the bull and 50 for the rider)The rider only gets a score if he stays on for the full 8 seconds, but the bull always receives a score. | ||||

Event Scoring
Each ride is worth up to 100 points, 50 points for the Bull and 50 points for the Rider if he successfully rides the bull for 8 seconds. Four judges award up to 25 points each to the rider and the bull. All four of the judges' scores are combined and then divided by two for the official score. In the event of a tie, the two back judge scores are used to make the final decision. In addition to his score in each round, the rider receives additional points if he places in the top ten, as described below.
For example, if a PBR rider scores 83 points and wins 2nd place in the first go round, scores 74 points and wins 8th place in the second go round, scores 85 points and wins third place in the short go, and wins 3rd place in the average, his score for that BFTS Event will be the total of 83 (first ride) + 74 (second ride) + 85 (third ride) + 90 (second place in first go) + 30 (eighth place in second go) + 80 (third place in short go) + 240 (third place in average) = 682. No ground points will be awarded to PBR competing members. |
